Radio System FAQ

How do I set up a condition on my 9Z?

Your 9Z has a very unique ability - you can literally have up to 8 model memories all of which are interchangeable IN FLIGHT for ONE MODEL! These 'model memories' are called conditions and allow you the flexibility change nearly everything from one maneuver type to another.

TO SET UP A CONDITION: Set up everything you want the same across all conditions - servo directions, basic dual rates, etc. Be SURE the model has a name (in model menu, MNA feature).

Note that the key button to push is in parentheses, such as button O (O):

1) Name the base condition to help keep track. The base condition is going to be your 'normal' flight mode, so name it 'normal'.

    HOW? From the home screen:
___ Press Condition menu (O)
___ Press Condition Name CNA (b then L).
___ Name condition "norml" (QMM H MH MMMH KKKKKH KH)
___ Press end (N).

2) Copy your normal condition into your 2nd condition.

    HOW? From the home screen:
___ Press System SYS menu (Q)
___ Press Copy Condition CDC (CF).
___ Copy from current condition (it will depend on the model # you are copying from because your base condition # is also the model's current #. Look at the top center of your screen right after COPY COND it says xx.(name).NRML. whatever XX it shows is the # you need in the copy condition box.) Press F until proper condition # shows in the box.
___ Press SET (Q).
___ Copy to a new condition. (Select the blank condition for 2nd condition. To find a blank one, press the LiST key (.R). The first 10 listed are your base models (your 10 model memory) and cannot be used as conditions. Press NeXT (P) and find the first condition which has its # in its name and 00 in its model #. Lets assume #15 is blank on your radio and we're going to select #15. Press END (N) and enter #15 into the TO CONDITION box.
___ Press END (N).

3) Now select the copy you made & assign to a switch so you can use it.

    HOW? From the home screen:
___ Press model menu (P)
___ Press Condition SeLect CSL (B F).
___ Choose the 2nd condition for this primary model (or 3rd or 4th if you're making additional conditions past the first one) by pressing B and then selecting the condition # you are using. In our case, its # 15 so we're going to use the F key 4 times to go up from 11 to 15.
___ Now, WAIT! don't end yet! You have to set a switch to use the condition, so do that now. Press SWiTch (P)
___ Choose a switch to go from your base condition to this condition. For our example, lets use switch C (.C). Now the switch is currently off in all 3 positions as you can see, lets decide to use the 2 position of the switch (pulled down toward the sticks) by pressing the P key to make the condition active when the switch is in the #2 position. Press PRE to go back.
___ Now SET the model (.O)
___ Press END.

4) Check it works. View the name of your model at the top center of your radio: xx.modelname.NORML is how it should read. (where XX is your model's # and 'modelname' is the model's name). Pull the switch C to its #2 position. See the name changed to #00115? GOOD! Its working!

Decide what to use that copy for and name it, lets say, flaps (by going in condition menu and selecting CNA). Now from here, its entirely up to you to set up anything you want condition #2 to do. It can literally do ANYTHING except change the basic stick assignments (throttle left elevator right, etc).

REMEMBER! Whenever you're making any types of changes, you HAVE to be in the proper condition that you're changing. Don't have the switch in the normal condition then think you're changing throws, etc, in the new condition you made.
