Find The Perfect Radio:

Radio System FAQ

My ailerons work fine, but when I turn the flap knob they both move as ailerons. What's wrong?

There are several possible causes for this.

  1. Are the 2 servos plugged separately into the channels called for in your manual (usually 1 and 6) or are they in a y-harness both into channel 1? If they are on a y-harness, they cannot operate as flaps. Unplug the y-harness and plug the servos in separately to the 2 channels.

  2. The direction setup for one of the servos in the flaperon menu is incorrect. Go into the flaperon programming and check that the flap percents set are opposite directions of one another.

  3. Other programming setup in the radio over-riding the flaperon commands. Try using a blank model memory in the radio, get the one aileron servo operating properly, activate flaperons, get the second servo operating properly as an aileron, then try the flap knob.
