Find The Perfect Radio:

Radio System FAQ

I am setting up an Ultra Stick with my 9C radio. All of your current FAQ's only tell me how to set this up only with a Y-harness for the elevator servos, but I want to use the Ailvator function, with two separate elevator servos so that I can use them separately also. Can I do this?

Yes, you can definitely do this. What you would need to do is set your radio in Acro Mode, with Flaperon, Ailvator and Airbrake active.

  1. Your channel set up will be as follows:
    • Channel 1- Right Aileron
    • Channel 2- Right Elevator
    • Channel 3- Throttle
    • Channel 4- Rudder
    • Channel 5- Right Flap
    • Channel 6- Left Aileron
    • Channel 7- Left Flap
    • Channel 8- Left Elevator

  2. You will want to go into Aux Channel and assign VR-E to channel 7.

  3. You will need to set up the following:
    • Program Mix 1- Master will be Aux 1- slave will be Gear, Link will be OFF, Position will be NULL
    • Program Mix 2- Master will be Aile- slave will be Aux 1, Trim will be ON, make the Switch "C" in the UP Position.
    • Program Mix 3- Master will be Aile- slave will be Gear-, Link will be OFF, Trim will be On, make the Switch "C" in the UP Position.
    • Program Mix 4- Master will be Aux 1- slave will be Aux 1, Link will be ON, make the Switch "C" in the UP & CENTER Position, Rate will need to be: Left -100%, Right -100% with 0% Offset.
    • Program Mix 5- Master will be Gear- slave will be Gear, Link will be OFF, make the Switch "C" in the UP & CENTER Position, Rate will need to be: Left -100%, Right -100% with 0% Offset.

  4. Now you will want to go back into Aux Channel and make channel 5 NULL.

This should get you the setup that you are looking for.
