Radio System FAQ

Can I assign flaperons, elevons, or ailevators to a switch so they're only functional sometimes (I want to use them for special stunts but not the rest of the time)?

Unfortunately, no, you can't use the preprogramming and assign it to a switch on a 6 or 8 channel radio. (note: If you are using a 9Z, then you CAN do this in conditions.) A 6X or 6X super series radio is not capable of the manual programming needed to make this operate using individual pmixes.

However, on the 8U and 8U super series radios (and a 9Z without having to use a separate condition), you COULD use separate elevator servos to create ailevators (or separate aileron servos and create flaperons) with mixes.

  1. Left elevator servo in channel 2.
  2. Right elevator servo in channel 8.
  3. Mix channel 2 to channel 8 so the surfaces go the same direction (acting like elevators) in an 'on' position on a single switch.
  4. Do another mix, channel 2 to channel 8, surfaces going opposite direction (acting like ailerons) in the 'off' position of the same switch.
