3PK Radio System FAQ

  1. Use the 3rd channel as a brake, tied into the throttle.

  2. How do I set up my ESC for 70:30 or 50:50 operation?

  3. Will my (blank) ESC work in HRS mode?

  4. How do I reset the timer that is on the upper left-hand side of my screen?

  5. Can you give me radio/car/driving/set up tips to run my X car under XX conditions?

  6. Do you sell parts for my 3PK "Megatech" radio, I need a new battery tray for it and I can't find one anywhere?

  7. The antenna on my 3PK does not screw in anymore, is there a quick fix for this or do I need to send this into the service center to be repaired?

  8. I am trying to get my throttle servo speed to decrease on my 3PK. This is the same function as servo slow, but no matter how low I set it there is no change in the speed of my servo? What am I doing wrong?

  9. When I am using my radio for programming, setup within my house, experimenting, etc, is there anything special I should do?

  10. If I remove my transmitter battery will I lose all my data? Does my radio have a lithium battery to store all my programming, or how is this data stored? Do I need to service this memory in any way?

  11. What servos should I use with HRS and Normal Response mode?

  12. I did not find the answer to my question here. How do I get further assistance?

I want to use the 3rd channel on my new 3PK as a brake, but I would like it tied into my throttle. But when I use my throttle for foward movement, my 3rd servo is also moving in the opposite directon. How do I get the 3rd servo to move in one direction only, AND have it be active only with my brake?

What you will need to do is a PMix and set FWRD to "0". Then set Brake at +100, set the Master as Throttle and the Slave as Ch. For Mode you will need to make this ACT (Active). Offset should be "0", MXMD should say OFF (take out "Mix") and Trim should be ON.

Once you do this, this will make the brake on the 3rd channel work in conjuction with the throttle when you brake, but it will also make the servo do nothing in forward motion.

How do I set up my ESC for 70:30 or 50:50 operation?

This function is not programmed into the 3PK as it is set up for 50:50 operation by default. Most ESC's are now set to run 70:30 and as such do not require setup in the 3PK programming. The 70:30 is adjusted through the ESC only.

Will my (blank) ESC work in HRS mode?

Yes! Check the manual for the MC-Setup feature for use of ESC's in HRS.

How do I reset the timer that is on the upper left-hand side of my screen?

With your transmitter on, hold down the plus (+) and minus (-) keys simultaneously for one second. This will set the timer back to zero for you.

Do you sell parts for my 3PK "Megatech" radio, I need a new battery tray for it and I can't find one anywhere?

No, the Megatech version of the 3PK is sold only overseas. While we can service these radios, we will not carry the transmitter battery tray.

Also please be aware that we do NOT do warranty repair on ANY Megatech version of this radio. For warranty work the radio will need to be sent back the country of purchase for warranty repair.

The antenna on my 3PK does not screw in anymore, is there a quick fix for this or do I need to send this into the service center to be repaired?

While you should not ever remove the antenna from your 3PK, if you have removed it often enough, you may find that the antenna no longer will screw in and seat itself as it should.

A quick remedy for this would be to use a pair of long hemostats, these you will insert into the hole for the antenna, and grasping the screw that is inside, tightly hold this screw while you turn the transmitter counter-clockwise. This will tighten the screw into place, you can then replace the antenna securely.

I am trying to get my throttle servo speed to decrease on my 3PK. This is the same function as servo slow, but no matter how low I set it there is no change in the speed of my servo? What am I doing wrong?

If you are trying to use this function in the HRS mode, it will not work for you. The combination of the high-speed HRS receiver and the Digital servos required for this will not allow any change in the speed of your servos.
