12Z Radio System FAQ

Binding Servos! I have 2 rudder servos on the outside of my fuse. Both servo arms are sticking up, this makes one servo arm on the left side of the servo, the other on the right. One servo needs no sub-trim at all, its arm is 90 degrees to the servo. The other requires quite a bit for its arm to be 90 degrees to the servo. Reversing the arm 180 degrees on either servo has no effect. When the sub-trim is adjusted on just one servo, it is throwing everything else off. I am using aluminum arms, but it seems like the uneven number of splines on the output shaft may be causing a problem. Help!

The use of expensive aluminum arms makes a solution impractical. What some of us using eCCPM Helis do is use the plastic wheels/arms. Start with a pile of 10 or 15 wheels. After making sure the servo is centered (an easy task with the 12Z) just pick one and place it on the servo. If it doesn't line up at EXACTLY 90 degrees, rotate it the full 360 degrees, one spline at a time. If you cannot find a point where the arm is exactly 90 degrees, remove that wheel and try another one. Go through the same process over again until you find one that will line up.

While this can be very time consuming, it is worth the time and effort.
